Steel is a very common metal, used for the realization of various furnishings and also of sinks, refrigerators and hobs, as it does not rust and is easy to maintain. A steel hob, has a glassy sheen and also a strong resistance to impact. In the market there are steel hobs of different designers and styles. Here’s how to clean steel kitchen floor.
Moisten the surface of the hob with a soft sponge. Pass a special scrub to clean the steel and spread it on the hob with a brush, with nylon bristles. Add more water if you need to, so that the solution does not dry out too much. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use a soft cloth or nylon brush to wipe away any residue of food and dirt. Rinse only with water and dry with a cotton towel. Repeat this if necessary or until all stains are removed.
Remove the grates from the hob and sprinkle over the coarse salt. Add the white vinegar over the salt, preferably using a spray bottle. Add a teaspoon of baking soda over the vinegar. Let it act for 5 minutes or so, a effervescent action will occur that will help eliminate food stains on the cooktop. If there are areas that are particularly encrusted, perform this evening procedure and let it act during the night. Wear a pair of gloves and rub the mixture over the top. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles to remove the most difficult incrustations. Rinse with lukewarm water and dry with a cotton cloth.
To avoid the accumulation of limestone deposits, always rinse the hob thoroughly and dry it after each use. Never use strong alkaline agents such as ammonia-based or caustic soda solutions to clean steel. Also avoid the use of highly chemical substances. Do not clean the hob with abrasive powders or pads, as they may scratch the surface, causing a greater difficulty in removing stains. Clean the hob regularly with a mild detergent (or as recommended by the manufacturer). You can also polish with lemon juice or with apple cider vinegar. Spray the juice directly onto the surface and polish with a cotton cloth.
